The CCK Compassion Ministry focuses on local outreach to vulnerable populations in our community. Our desire is to serve in practical ways and by sharing our eternal hope in the Savior that will provide for every need, all for the glory of God.
Thrive Westland provides both an after school program as well as a summer program for K-5th students in the Westland/Northshore area in West Knoxville. We partner with Thrive Westland in several ways: hosting the program at our church building, helping students with their homework during the school year as well as providing dinner for students and staff, providing breakfast a couple times each week in the summer for students and staff, donating gifts and volunteers for the Thrive Christmas Store and organizing an Easter egg hunt each spring to celebrate Easter. Thrive Westland will begin in January 2025.
The Village seeks to show the love of Christ by supporting the adoption and foster care community in our church and the Knox County area. We do this by caring for adoptive, foster and kinship families in our church, supporting adoption and foster care organizations in the Knox County area, and engaging others to serve the adoption and foster care community.
SWAP (Successful Work and Purpose) exists to help those in need in the community to get a job or a better job, so they can provide for their families. SWAP does this by providing a four-week class that teaches the dignity of work, as well as practical skills including professionalism, interviewing, and résumé writing. Each student has a one-on-one mentor to build a relationship with, and all of this is done through a Biblical curriculum, which proclaims the gospel while teaching practical skills. SWAP will start back up Fall 2025.
